Torquay care home sells from a guide price of over £1m through Christie + Co

Acting on behalf of a well known local care home owner, the Exeter Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, has sold Aveland Court; a care home situated in Babbacombe, within the coastal town of Torquay in Devon.
A detached period property, the home has been operating for over 20 years and provides accommodation for 30 elderly clients under the categories of old age, dementia, physical disability and mental disorder. There are 18 single and six shared bedrooms; all of which have their own en suite facilities, and it is understood that planning permission has been passed for a rear five-bedroom extension.
Externally, the property stands in well established gardens and grounds, with parking for a number of vehicles.
Simon Harvey, from Christie + Co’s Exeter Office, who handled the sale, commented; “The vendor had owned Aveland Court for 24 years and decided to sell so she can concentrate on her other home. The new owners are a family run business, who trade as Zen Healthcare and already own two other homes.”
A substantial asking price in excess of £1 million was sought for the freehold interest of Aveland Court and it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
