Award-winning team to sell their Edinburgh bar

Christie + Co, the leading licensed property agent, confirms that its Edinburgh office has been instructed by Blue Steel Ltd to the Dragonfly Cocktail Bar on West Port, close to the city’s Grassmarket area.
Barry McNeil, associate director of Christie + Co, who is handling the sale, comments: “We are obviously pleased to receive this key instruction as Blue Steel Ltd is one of the most exciting and dynamic young pub companies in Scotland today. Offers are invited for the leasehold interest and prospective purchasers will be acquiring a well performing and profitable business that has been expertly built up and looked after by our clients.”
Blue Steel Ltd is made up of entrepreneurial owners Brendan Denahy, Kyles Dignall and Anthony Boyle. Dragonfly has won a number of high profile awards since its inception. Blue Steel Ltd also trades the Villager on George IV Bridge and the highly successful and now fully acclaimed Voodoo Rooms on West Register Street. At the latest SLTN Awards the Voodoo Rooms was awarded Spirits Bar of the Year 2008, Music Pub of the Year 2008 and Cocktail Bar of the Year 2008. The Voodoo Rooms has also won Most Stylish Entertainment Venue at the Scottish Style Awards.
A spokesperson from Blue Steel Ltd commented: “Obviously it is a mixture of emotions with regard to the possible disposal of Dragonfly but we believe we have built up a very solid operation that will prove to be an excellent template for new owners to take on develop and enhance further.”
