Newly-weds purchase their first business; The Loch Tummel Inn near Pitlochry
Independent mortgage broker, Christie Finance, has assisted a couple with the purchase of their first business; The Loch Tummel Inn overlooking Loch Tummel at Strathtummel, near Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, while associate company, leading licensed property agents, Christie + Co, provided the valuation of the business.
Set in a stunning location, just past the famous Queen’s View, 10 miles from Pitlochry and on the banks of Loch Tummel, the business trades as a 3 Star country inn and has six letting bedrooms, a lounge bar, a 20-cover restaurant and owner’s accommodation.
The new owners, Tom and Amanda Harrison, from Kirkintilloch in Glasgow, are recently married and are looking forward to embarking on their first business venture together as a husband and wife team. They are currently carrying out some minor refurbishment and renovation and the Loch Tummel Inn is set to re-open for business at the beginning of November.
Adrian Foster, from Christie Finance, who arranged the funding for the purchase, commented: “Mr and Mrs Harrison were looking to be their own bosses and even though they had limited experience, we were able to use our expertise and utilise our relationships with the banks to obtain the appropriate funding, so the new-weds can fulfil their dream.”
