A convenience store in Canterbury, which enjoys a prominent trading position fronting the A28, is being offered for sale through the Maidstone Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co.
Canterbury Food & Wine comprises a ground floor lock-up retail unit, with a trading area of approximately 700 sq ft and a store room and staff kitchen to the rear and side. There are four one-bedroom flats located above the business, which have good rental value.
The product range consists of a small selection of newspapers, magazines, groceries, confectionery, chilled produce, frozen food, cigarettes and tobacco, toiletries, household items, ice creams, greetings cards, batteries, medicines, pet food, crisps, snacks, fruit and vegetables, and also has a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. Supplementary income is generated from the National Lottery agency, a paypoint agency and a photocopying service.
David Garrard, from Christie + Co’s Maidstone Office, who is handling the sale, commented; “The current owners acquired this business in 2000 and we understand that they are now looking to sell as they wish to take a break. The customer base is a broad mixture of residents living in the immediate locality, shoppers and business people working within the area.”
A freehold asking price of £545,000 is being sought by Christie + Co for Canterbury Food & Wine.
