Residential care home in Clacton-on-Sea is sold to an existing operator

14/76312 Cherry Leas
A residential care home in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, has changed hands through the Ipswich Office of leading business agents, Christie + Co, with the funding arranged by independent mortgage brokers, Christie Finance.
Cherry Leas is situated to the eastern side of the town and is a short walk away from the seafront. A detached two-storey property, it is registered for 16 elderly residents all in single bedrooms; eight of which have en suite facilities, and has car parking spaces to the front and a lawned garden to the rear.
Robert Mellamphy, from Christie + Co’s Ipswich Office, who handled the sale, commented; “The home had been run by Mr and Mrs Schofield since early 2001, but they decided to sell so they can pursue alternative projects. The purchasers are Mr and Mrs Joomun, who are experienced operators and have another home in Essex.”
Nicholas Baker, from Christie Finance, commented; “Our independence and client focus meant that we sourced our clients the most competitive terms the market had to offer and we continue to surpass our clients’ expectations and deliver a committed and knowledgeable service. Christie + Co and Christie Finance worked together to ensure this deal completed and we are sure that Mr and Mrs Joomun will be a big success.”
An asking price of £810,000 was sought for the freehold interest of Cherry Leas and it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
