Christie + Co sells Archie’s restaurant in Oundle, Northants

74/7322 Archies

Archie’s restaurant, café and wine bar, situated in the cobbled Crown Court, just off the Market Place in the town of Oundle, Northamptonshire, has been sold through the Milton Keynes office of leading international restaurant agents, Christie + Co.

Archie’s occupies an attractive, stone built unit within a small retail development in the town centre and seats 55 diners on the ground floor and 75 within an open courtyard. The business offers an outside grill and bar area which is very popular in the summer months and a semi-permanent marquee for the winter months. The trading area occupies the ground floor with ancillary areas on the first floor.

This restaurant benefits greatly from its town centre trading location, just off the Market Square, and has little direct competition as there are relatively few restaurants in Oundle.

Carl Steer of Christie + Co, who is handled the sale, commented: “Our client, Peter Smith, operated Archie’s for three successful years and has earned a fine reputation locally for providing good value, modern English cuisine. His decision to sell was due other business interests. The purchaser is Gavin Henderson, who lives locally and who used to trade a restaurant in the town.”

Archie’s was sold for an undisclosed figure after Christie + Co sought an asking price of £125,000 for the leasehold interest.
