We have now sold The Red Lion in Needham four times since 2005, three times on a freehold basis and once on a tied lease. This time around, we sold the freehold of the business on behalf of a corporate operator to the family of the existing leaseholders, who recognised the opportunity to expand the business as a freehouse. The majority of pubs sold on behalf of corporate operators continue to trade as pubs under private ownership.
