Melrose's Townhouse Hotel is looking for a new owner

The Townhouse Hotel in the Scottish Borders town of Melrose has been brought to the market by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

The hotel contains 11 letting bedrooms as well as a 32-cover brasserie, a 36-cover restaurant and a function room with capacity for 70 plus its own bar and dance floor. There is also a large decking area that can seat 25 in the summer months and the two bedroom owner’s accommodation is also included in the sale.

Ken Sims, Director at Christie & Co comments, “This first class business operates as a boutique-style hotel, and is renowned for its excellent food and drink. Melrose is a popular tourist destination for fishing, golf and its many nearby historical landmarks so both the hotel and restaurant benefit from excellent trade.

“The function room is popular for private events such as anniversaries and birthdays and is an area of the business that can certainly be further developed. There is also potential to develop some of the external areas more effectively. This is therefore a great opportunity for an experienced or first-time operator to take over an established business with a great reputation and the potential to grow it even more.”
