Oxfordshire village inn bought by local operator

The Inn at Emmington, located on the edge of the Oxfordshire village of Sydenham, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to ex Forte and MacDonald Hotels’ General Manager, David Maisey, who will be running the property with his wife Sharon.

Previously owned by husband and wife team Jerry Pattison and Paula Newton, the large detached inn, which is set on its own plot of land with ample outside space, features an open plan seating area for 70 as well as seven en suite letting bedrooms located in a separate building directly opposite the bar and restaurant.

Tim Widdows, Business Agent at Christie & Co comments, “Due to its reputation and locality, this property represented a great opportunity for an operator to acquire a very successful inn with rooms.  We have no doubt that David and Sharon will continue to grow the business from strength to strength and wish them well with their venture.”

David Maisey comments, “I look forward to taking over the helm at The Inn at Emmington and continuing the good work that Jerry and Paula put in.”
