Sussex Downs inn finds new owner through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has successfully completed the sale of The Blacksmiths Arms in the village of Offham, East Sussex, nestled beneath the Sussex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The traditional, detached 18th century inn boasts a spacious trade area with restaurant and bar for up to 45 covers and four, charming four star double en suite guest bedrooms. Fitted to a high standard with stylish interior and characterful features such as a traditional wood burner, the venue also comprises a good size commercial kitchen and large owner’s accommodation in a separate building on the site.

Externally, the property enjoys a beautifully presented trade garden with seating for 40 covers and car parking space for up to 20 vehicles. Situated in an ideal location for visitors looking to explore the Sussex countryside, The Blacksmith’s Arms attracts new and repeat custom from a wide radius alongside the benefit of a loyal local following.

The previous owner ran the business themselves for a number of years before leasing it out to the previous tenant.

The new owner is a first time buyer and is looking to further establish the growing business.

James Hughes – Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Maidstone office handled the sale and comments, “The Blacksmiths Arms is a delightful pub that we had quite a lot of interest in and I am happy that it has been sold to the right new owner.”
