Award winning Brighton hotel comes to the market

Blanch House Hotel, an award winning AA 3 Star seaside town house hotel in Brighton, has been brought to the market through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

The boutique hotel occupies a substantial Grade II listed Georgian town house a stone’s throw from the seafront in the heart of Kemp Town, close to all the local cafes, bars and restaurants. Arranged over three floors and retaining many original period features, the hotel comprises 12 beautifully presented and individually designed en suite guest bedrooms, a residents’ lounge/champagne & cocktail bar, and a restaurant which is also utilised as a function room, ideal for hosting weddings, private dining events, celebrations and business functions. The property also features an owners’ or staff apartment on the lower ground floor.

Blanch House, Brighton’s original boutique hotel, maintains an excellent reputation with stellar reviews, plus a TripAdvisor 2019 “Travellers Choice” award. The business attracts significant repeat business from both UK and international leisure guests visiting local attractions, including Brighton Palace Pier, Brighton Racecourse and the Royal Pavilion, as well as business guests attending conferences and events throughout the city. Easily accessible by train from London, Brighton is also popular with visitors due to its selection of eclectic shops, lively arts scene and nightlife.

The current owners, Jeremy Ornellas and Kerry Turner have been in place for over seven years, having bought the property from Christie & Co, and are now looking forward to semi-retirement. During their ownership, the property has undergone a complete refurbishment, presenting a new owner with the opportunity to take over and continue trading immediately.

Jeremy Ornellas and Kerry Turner comment, “Blanch House is a very special place indeed and since we took over the hotel in 2011, we have really enjoyed working with a great team, met some wonderful people and hosted some very special events. We shall be sad to leave but are now ready to take a step back so that we can focus on other interests, allowing new owners to come on board and continue to develop the business further.”

Andrew Moore, Director at Christie & Co’s Maidstone office is handling the sale and comments, “Blanch House Hotel provides an exceptional opportunity for a purchaser wishing to own a business in a sought after area. As a result of the hotel’s excellent reputation for quality and service, the current owners have enjoyed strong levels of trade, making this a profitable enterprise for a new owner-operator.”

Christie & Co is seeking a guide price of £1,899,000 for the freehold interest.
