Christie & Co sell convenience store near Old Trafford

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Quadrant Local, a convenience store located close to Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Stretford, Greater Manchester, to an existing operator.

The business, which trades under an independent banner, is heavily relied upon by the local community and sees a significant increase in custom on days when sporting and entertainment events are held at the nearby cricket ground and football stadium.

Previous owners, Gurnam and Sathveer Singh, who had operated the store for the past eight years, sought a sale in order to retire from the convenience retail sector and spend more time with their family. Mr Gurnam Singh comments, “We have enjoyed running Quadrant Local and being a part of the community here in Stretford. We would like to wish the new owner every success for the future and thank Ashley Cobban for his assistance in making the sale happen. We could not have done it without him.”

Ashley Cobban, Business Agent at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “We were delighted to assist the Singhs in finding the right buyer for their business. Well located convenience stores like Quadrant Local continue to see high demand from the market, and we’re confident that the store will continue to go from strength to strength under new ownership.”

Quadrant Local was sold on a new leasehold basis off an asking price of £129,950.
