The freehold interest of a busy Spar store in the picturesque Dorset village of Marnhull is for sale with specialist property adviser Christie + Co.

Saved from closure in 2011 by local residents, John and Tracy Mogridge, this long established Spar store has now come to the market once again. This time around the store is a flourishing business which has benefited from major investment.

The business was completely refurbished and remodelled in 2011/12; the works included a new floor, new refrigeration units and chillers and new shelving.  A premises licence was added along with a hot food range to compliment the general groceries, newspapers and magazines, sandwiches and fresh food.

The store also benefits from a refurbished four bedroom property to the rear.

Mark Booth of Christie + Co’s Winchester office, who is handling this sale, says: “Spar in Marnhull offers prospective buyers a superb opportunity to own an established and solid business in a beautiful village, with spectacular uninterrupted countryside views from their own back garden.”

An asking price of £475,000 is being sought for the freehold interest. The owners may consider a leasehold option (with or without accommodation).
