Children's day nursery market demonstrates further strength

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is delighted to announce the sale of Bramleys Nursery Group – a group of highly regarded and much sought after children’s day nurseries located the Oxfordshire and Wiltshire regions.

The group was founded by Sue Watson in 1990 and has held an excellent track record of successful organic growth through their family run ethos.  The four nurseries offer 356 childcare places and operated with an outstanding occupancy rate. Reputationally, the group has always been held in high esteem and this is reflected in both the performance of the settings and the staff retention that they have maintained throughout the years.

The project was confidentially introduced to the market earlier this year and immediately generated an enviable level of interest with multiple bids being received. The group has now been sold to Busy Bees Holdings Ltd who fully intend to maintain the high level of quality and professionalism held by the business.   HRC Law advised the vendors as part of the sale and aided in bringing the transaction to a successful completion.

Following her 27 years of ownership, Sue Watson comments, “The decision for us to downsize was not taken lightly, as Bramleys Nurseries has been my life’s work. The process has been exciting and exhausting, but ultimately, very satisfying. I watched with pleasure as my long-serving members of staff welcomed in Busy Bees and I know they will go from strength to strength together. We wish them all well.”

Rosie Adlem, Associate Director at Christie & Co who managed the transaction adds, “It was an honour to work with Sue, John and Jess throughout the sales process of Bramleys Nurseries and I wish them all the very best for the future.  It was clear from the outset that they strived for excellence in everything they do and the quality of their group, and the way in which they approached the process was no different.

“The children’s day nursery market continues to show strong growth and the sale of Bramleys Nurseries demonstrates the desire for good quality regional groups.  We fully expect the remainder of 2017 to continue in the same vein.”
