Harrison Day Nursery under new ownership through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has completed on the sale of Harrison Day Nursery School in the popular borough of Wirral, Merseyside to regional group operator, Kids Planet, marking the group’s 30th addition to their fast-growing portfolio of outstanding nurseries.

Located in the heart of Wallasey Village, Harrison Day Nursery operates from a substantial main property, formerly a bank, and three adjoining converted properties. With an effective operating capacity for 120 children and a variety of learning environments for each age group, the nursery and Montessori pre-school setting has consistently achieved ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings.

Established by the previous owner, Mr Landrum in 2000, the family run nursery has grown organically into a thriving business with an exceptional local reputation and impressive financial performance, as a result of their passion and attention to detail throughout the years.

Clare Roberts, Chief Executive of Kids Planet comments, “We’re delighted to acquire this fabulous nursery and look forward to continuing to provide outstanding childcare. We are really looking forward to continuing the legacy that has been created by Frank Landrum and build on this further with Jane and her team.”

Sofia Beck, Senior Business Agent in Childcare at Christie & Co brokered the sale and comments, “We have experienced positive activity in the sector across the North West this year and we expect a great deal more to happen before we enter 2019. Harrison Day Nursery is an excellent example of how high demand for top quality single assets can encourage exceptional sales prices being achieved for the exiting owners.

“It was great to see the Landrums form a strong relationship with the team at Kids Planet right from the start, and I wish the Landrum family and the nursery all the best for the future.”
