The only pub in Kent village looking for new owner

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brought to the market The Queen’s Head in the village of Five Oak Green, which has a rich history as a well known hop growing area in the 19th century, near Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

Occupying a semi-detached two-storey property in the heart of the village, the wet led pub comprises a spacious central bar and trading area for up to 40 covers, a newly fitted kitchen which is currently unutilised due to there being no food offering, and a separate area furnished with a darts board and snooker table, which could be repositioned to provide additional seating. The property also provides first floor three bedroom owners’ accommodation with a living room, bathroom and kitchen.

The site offers significant outside space, with an attractive patio and decked trade garden located to the rear of the property for 30 additional covers, as well as seating to the front for a further 12. As the only pub in the village, The Queen’s Head caters to the community’s loyal local following and due to its close proximity to main A roads, has good opportunities for passing trade.

James Hughes, Business Agent at Christie & Co, is handling the sale and comments, “The Queens Head is a popular and well supported venue in the heart of this great village and presents a fabulous opportunity for a new owner operator. The business is currently wet led giving a new operator the chance to build on current trade by providing a food offering and extending the opening hours.

“Rural Kent is popular with those looking for a lifestyle business and this picturesque village setting makes an ideal base for those to live and immerse themselves in the local community, with The Queen’s Head at its heart.”

Christie & Co is seeking an asking price £295,000 for the freehold interest.
