Group of three nursing homes in Kent sold through Christie & Co

A group of three nursing care homes located in and around the Kent town of Hythe have been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to Integrum Care Group in an off-market deal.

The three managed nursing homes, Saltwood Care Centre, Hythe View, and Balgowan House, provide a combined 143 bedrooms and all have been awarded a CQC ‘Good’ rating. Located in a cluster, the group are all situated within one mile of each other around the small town of Hythe, on the scenic Kent coast.

Having been well invested and maintained over the last 18 years by the previous owners and principal directors, Phil Barker and Tony Barnes, the three homes were brought to the market through Christie & Co as part of a discreet marketing campaign, to enable Mr Barker & Mr Barnes to retire. They comment, “Martin and John's excellent understanding of the market accurately identified Integrum Care Group as a potential purchaser of Hythe Care Homes Limited. Their confidential marketing process, expertise and guidance was crucial in helping us through the process and achieving a successful conclusion.

Martin Gould, Head of Brokerage – Care at Christie & Co, who handled the sale in conjunction with fellow Director John Harrison, comments, “We’re really pleased to have successfully concluded this sale, particularly so as it allows Phil and Tony to move forwards with their respective retirement plans. It’s also really good to see the buyers, Integrum Care Group, add to their growing portfolio.”

The group of three homes were sold via a share sale of the parent company, Hythe Care Homes, at an undisclosed price.
