The longstanding community pharmacy is situated in Longton, an attractive village located four miles south west of Preston, Lancashire. Within close proximity to the local health centre, the pharmacy benefits from a high specification fit out including a Willach Consis Robot that allows for an average of 17,100 items per month to be dispensed.

The pharmacy was previously owned by Ian Facer, who is now seeking a well-deserved retirement following a successful career in the pharmacy sector.

The business was purchased by M&B Healthcare, an expanding group operator based in Wigan with a network of ten pharmacies across the North West. The acquisition of Longton Pharmacy marks their eleventh site overall. The consultation rooms and dispensing robot already present will allow the new operator to take full advantage of the new five year pharmacy contract.

Karl Clezy, Director at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “Longton Pharmacy was an exceptional pharmacy business, fitted to the highest standard and benefitted from its prominent location on the main road close to the local health centre.  The new owners already operate a pharmacy in the area, which allowed for a smoother handover and continuity of care and service for the patients.”
