South Park Dental Practice sold to expanding independent local operator

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of South Park Dental Practice in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Established over 40 years ago, South Park Dental Practice is a mainly private practice with a small NHS contract. It comprises three well-fitted surgeries and boasts an excellent local reputation. The practice enjoys a prominent location in the salubrious spa town of Harrogate.

The business was previously owned by Dr Ian Auckland, who decided to retire from practice ownership. Dr Auckland comments, “I’ve worked as a dentist in Harrogate since 1986 and became the sole owner of South
Park Dental Practice in 2001. It has been a great career which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. When I began considering a sale, I approached Paul Graham at Christie & Co.

“It was a pleasure working with Paul. He showed great understanding of our needs and guided us through the sale. I must add that, even with the unexpected twist of Covid-19, I was reassured very early on that the sale would go ahead, which it did. Paul’s commitment to ensure this outcome was significant. It now gives me great pleasure to say I’ve sold my practice to new owners who will successfully uphold the reputation and growth of the practice.”

South Park Dental Practice has been sold to Perfect Smile Clinic (UK). Speaking on behalf of the company, Mrs Sakshi Gautam comments, “We are delighted to have acquired South Park Dental Practice which will fit perfectly into our dental group. The location is very strong, and it has a loyal patient base. The practice, Ian, and his staff have a great local reputation which I am looking forward to continuing.”

Paul Graham, Head of Dental at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “I am delighted that Christie & Co was chosen to act for Ian Auckland in the sale of his practice. This sale, like many in the North East/Yorkshire region, attracted a great amount of interest and multiple offers as a direct result of our confidential marketing campaign.

“The dental arena has proven resilient during previous economic downturns, and it was always unlikely that the market would sit still for long. The sale of South Park Dental and the sale price achieved reinforces the confidence and recovery of the market at present.”

South Park Dental Practice was sold at an undisclosed price.
