The Bristol Office of specialist property adviser Christie + Co is delighted to announce the sale of The Halt at Doldowlod in Llandrindod Wells.

The forecourt with Mace branded store, Post Office and restaurant had been successfully operated by the Lawrence and Zamroz families for over 17 years. The sale will now allow the families to focus on their other business interests.

High Noon Stores, which now operates 12 convenience stores and forecourts across South Wales and the South West of England, has taken a new lease on the business in partnership with Brecon Properties One Ltd. They recognised that The Halt was a well run business with excellent goodwill from not only the local community but also tourists that repeatedly travel to the area, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The forecourt is ideally located on the A470 in mid Wales that links Builth Wells with Rhayader. The Royal Welsh Showground is a short distance southbound on the A470 with potential customers for the site attending events at the showground throughout the year.

Gordon Miller, Managing Director of High Noon stores remarks: “We are delighted to add The Halt to our rapidly growing estate. As Grocer Gold Independent Retailer of the year 2014, it is great to take on a site that has previously won an independent forecourt of the year award. The site is a credit to the Lawrence and Zamroz families and we hope to build on their success.”

Speaking for the family, Rita Lawrence said, “We had excellent support from Christie + Co throughout the entire sales process and are delighted that the store has passed to an experienced independent chain of convenience stores with high standards and a wealth of retail experience.  We are confident they will build on our success as the site has much potential for further development and wish them every success.”
