The Riverside, an idyllic 16th century inn situated deep in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside is being put up for sale.

Owners Robert and Liz Gresko have owned and operated the business for over twelve years. The couple are now looking forward to a well-earned retirement and have appointed specialist property adviser Christie + Co to sell the delightful countryside property.

Steeped in old worlde style, the period building occupies a spectacular riverside setting by the River Lugg in the tranquil village of Aymestrey, noted for its bucolic beauty and outdoor pursuits.

With its two tastefully decorated cottage suites and four pinewood furnished en-suite bedrooms, the Riverside Inn retains a sense of quaint, rustic charm.

The restaurant offers a relaxed and informal dining experience and is highly-regarded for its use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients — with most of the vegetables grown in the property’s own extensive gardens.

There is also a well-appointed owner’s accommodation on the 2.84 acre site, featuring three substantial double bedrooms.

Paul Reilly of Christie + Co’s Birmingham office is handling the sale. He comments: “Riverside Inn provides a stable and reputable platform for an existing operator or a first-time buyer who wishes to take full advantage of the development potential and wonderful countryside lifestyle that owning the business would offer.”

“This is a trophy asset and we expect to receive strong levels of interest.”

Offers in excess of £625,000 are being sought by Christie + Co.
