The nursery was established in 2002 and is registered for 60 children.  The modern building features underfloor heating, double glazed windows and direct access from downstairs play areas to gardens. Internally there are baby areas, messy play areas, quiet rooms and small group rooms in addition to staff rooms, toilets, a kitchen and a store room.

In addition to providing day care facilities from 7.30am until 6.00pm, the nursery operates an out of school club for a further 20 children attending the nearby Broomfield School.

Whilst the current owners oversee the day to day running of the nursery and look after financial affairs, there is a full time manager in place who has been posted since the year of opening and a team of 12 qualified staff.
Jonathan Wickens, Director in Christie & Co’s Leeds office, who is handling the sale comments: “Sunflowers Day Nursery offers an excellent opportunity for a first time buyer looking to enter the childcare sector with experienced staff and an established business already in place. Alternatively, it may appeal to a regional operator who wants to add a purpose-built nursery to its portfolio.

“There are numerous factors currently influencing the childcare sector including the proposal for additional free childcare and the impact of the National Living Wage. Christie & Co is well placed to provide advice to operators in this exciting time for the industry.”

Christie & Co is seeking offers around £350,000 for the freehold interest.
