Costcutter branded convenience store sold through Christie & Co

The sale of a Costcutter branded convenience store in Chadderton, Oldham in Greater Manchester has completed through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

The Costcutter is situated along the busy Middleton Road and is heavily relied upon by the local community, being surrounded by a densely populated residential area. The former owner, Mr Patel instructed Christie & Co to sell the leasehold to relocate to London and comments, “James of Christie & Co did a fantastic job and the sale would not have happened without his relentless hard-work and expertise. I thank him for all of his efforts.”

The store has been acquired by the Bala family, independent multiple operators within the region who own two other stores in the North West, finding the site to be the perfect addition to their growing portfolio with plenty of potential. The Bala family plans to increase turnover by adding a wider range of new product lines through a new supplier.

James Moore-Martin, Associate Director in Christie & Co’s Manchester office who handled the sale comments, “This busy leasehold convenience store received much interest from independent operators regionally, eventually completing close to the asking price. This recent success is further evidence of an increasingly buoyant market for the mid-level turnover convenience store.”

The business was sold off an asking price of £110,000.
