The highly regarded nursery has an effective operating capacity for 90 children and occupies an extensive, detached two storey former school property with a range of age specific, high quality learning and play rooms. Additionally, Stonehouse offers substantial outdoor space for children’s activities, plus a fruit and vegetable patch.

Sitting in a highly accessible position a short walk to the town centre and in a popular residential area, the nursery is conveniently placed for local parents, with nearby transport and road links also attracting parents commuting through the area too.

The previous owner established the business nearly 30 years ago and decided to sell in order to retire.

Stonehouse Nursery School has been purchased on a leasehold basis by established childcare provider, Just Childcare Ltd, adding to their portfolio of 49 nurseries. David Johnson, Chief Executive of Just Childcare comments, “Stonehouse Childcare has a long-established reputation as one of the best nurseries in the Leyland area, providing exceptional care in a nurturing and inspiring environment. The setting is close to our nurseries in Preston and Chorley and shares our ethos that children should be at the centre of everything we do, so naturally we see them as a perfect fit for the Just Childcare group.

“We look forward to working alongside the nursery’s long-standing team of childcare professionals to develop the success of their settings further.”

Sofia Beck, Associate Director at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “I wish Linda a happy, well deserved retirement and believe that Just Childcare will continue to grow the business and see the nursery move from strength to strength.

“This has been another example of the continued activity within the North West children’s day nursery market, following on from last year’s success. We are delighted to be able assist with the growth of Just Childcare’s portfolio and their continued expansion.”
