The popular attraction is sprawled across 18 acres of picturesque Cornish landscape, just two miles from the town of Redruth, in the traditional mining heart of Cornwall and is easily accessible from the A30 dual carriageway.

A range of modern buildings erected in recent years blend seamlessly with the older buildings on site, including the Grade II listed mill works known as Tolgus Mill. Overall, the site has been exceptionally well maintained and is presented in excellent condition throughout.

Tolgus Mill is the last working example of a tin mine in Cornwall, offering visitors a fascinating insight to Cornwall’s mining history. Alongside the mill, the attraction offers a range of family activities including the chance to ‘pan for gold’ or play a round of Krazy Golf.

The on-site restaurant and café, the Cornish Pantry is popular with visitors and locals alike, offering a selection of locally sourced Cornish produce. The restaurant has a contemporary, open plan feel which opens onto an external terrace for alfresco dining.

Also featured on the property is a successful jewellery business trading as Cornwall Gold & Cornwall Pearl, which is operated from the largest retail unit. The onsite workshop allows customers to design and customise their purchase, as well as up cycle old jewellery.

The business has been owned by FS Group for over 30 years and they have made the decision to bring the property to market through Christie & Co to focus on other businesses in their portfolio.

The property lends itself to a range of uses, be it a continuation of the current owner’s business model 'Cornwall Gold' or a new venture, which utilises the extensive retail space on site. There is also potential for further development of the site, subject to planning approval.

In addition to the retail and leisure offerings on site, three units are currently let to third party operators on lease or licence agreements. These complementary businesses trade as a build a bear workshop, dance school and studio and a pottery and painting studio. One further unit is currently vacant.

Stephen Champion, Director in Christie & Co’s Hospitality team is handling the sale and comments, “Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill presents a truly rare opportunity to acquire a unique high profile visitor attraction in the heart of Cornwall. The property has significant upside and will offer a new owner the opportunity to build upon the vendor’s current business. We expect interest to come from a wide range of buyers including operators and investors.”

Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill is on the market on a freehold basis, with a guide price of £2,500,000.
