Specialist property adviser Christie + Co has been instructed to sell The Spindrift, a highly-regarded, multi award-winning Victorian guesthouse in East Neuk of Fife's quaint fishing village of Anstruther.

Built in 1870 for a Tea Clipper Captain, the imposing two-storey property offers eight bedrooms, all with en suite- facilities and decorated to a high standard. There is an attractive resident’s lounge providing guests with stylish and comfortable setting in which they can relax. Adjacent to the lounge is a 16-cover dining room serving both breakfast and evening meals.

One unique feature of the 4-Star Gold guesthouse is the ‘Captain’s Cabin’ on the top floor, providing particularly attractive and memorable accommodation. This room replicates a ship Master’s wood-panelled cabin, with its small east facing window looking towards Anstruther harbour.

Anstruther is the largest of the East Neuk villages and boasts a wide range of activities and attractions, including some of the finest golf courses in the country, which are all within easy driving distance from The Spindrift.

The Spindrift benefits from an alcohol license and stocks a variety of Scottish beers, wines, malt whiskies and other spirits. Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the guest house.

Ken Sims of Christie + Co’s Edinburgh office is handling the sale of the property. He comments: “This is an excellent business which is highly recommended in both Lonely Planet and the Michelin Guide. The business has won numerous awards over the years including Visit Scotland Taste Our Best, Les Routiers Guest House of the Year 2013, Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2012/2013 & 2014 and the Healthy Living award.”
