Occupying a prominent corner position, the two storey stone built property comprises of a ground floor trading area, beer garden with a paved seating area to the rear and three bedroom owner’s accommodation on the first floor.

The property has been purchased by Jonathan Smith, a local operator who owns three other free houses in the county. Mr Smith, who intends to refurbish the property and create an additional trading area by converting the adjoining garages into a restaurant, comments; “We have big plans for the Red Lion. We will undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of the property and continue to trade it as a pub, with a focus on real ale and good quality food.”

Gavin Webb, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Nottingham office who handled the sale comments; “We are pleased to have secured a sale of the property on behalf of Marston’s.  This is yet another example of a public house being sold for continued licensed use and we wish Mr Smith the best of luck with his new venture.”

The Red Lion was sold off an asking price of £285,000.
