Established in 1999, this family run, purpose-built nursery has offered consistent high-quality childcare. Recently voted one of the top three nurseries in England and rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted year on year, Scamps is well renowned throughout East Cheshire and further afield. With an effective operating capacity for 98 children and scope to extend, the nursery benefits from its prime position amongst Macclesfield’s popular South Park; a key selling point for new parents.

After acquiring the nursery in 2011, the dedicated owners John and Deborah Sutton have encouraged the business to flourish in every aspect, developing an unrivalled, highly successful model which provides impressive levels of annual income and profits. John Sutton comments, “Having devoted so much of our time and energy into the nursery over the last eight years, selling was a very difficult decision to make.  But both Christie & Co and Busy Bees made the process as straightforward as it could be, working closely with us every step of the way. The time also gave Deborah and I the chance to get to know more about who we were selling our nursery to, and having worked closely with Busy Bees for the last four months we know we made the right choice and  we are delighted that they are the new owners of Scamps.”

Sofia Beck, Associate Director at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “Due to the unique nature of this exceptional day nursery and in order to maximise value, we ran a highly confidential closed marketing process, achieving a market setting offer very early on.

“The legal transaction ran smoothly, mainly due to the seller’s being highly organised and diligent, and the support and commitment from their solicitor, Tom Shorten at Pinsent Masons. I would like to take this opportunity to wish John and Deborah the best of luck for their future ventures, which I have no doubt will be just as successful as Scamps!”
