David and Annie Lanz have owned and operated the business for 10 years. Since purchasing what was formerly Leighton House through Christie & Co in 2006, they have made substantial investments in renovating and refurbishing the property which now trades as a high-quality boutique bed and breakfast.

David and Annie are well known in Bath having operated several bed and breakfast businesses in the city and have now decided to plan for retirement by downsizing their operation. They will continue to run their other business, Paradise House Bath, an elegant Georgian boutique B&B with views out over the City of Bath.

One Three Nine Bath has been purchased by Bath Boutique Ltd which is expanding its portfolio in the city. The business will continue to be operated by the current managers and staff alongside Grays and Brindleys, Bath Boutique’s existing boutique B&B properties in Bath.

The property incorporates an elegant reception hall with guest lounge and breakfast room and a staircase rising to the upper floors with 10 ensuite letting bedrooms.

Jonathan Hill, who handled the sale on behalf of Christie & Co comments, “We are delighted to announce the sale of what is a stunning boutique bed and breakfast in Bath. We wish the new owners every success in their venture.

“Bath continues to be an area of high demand for hospitality/bed and breakfast businesses and we received a substantial number of enquiries about this particular opportunity. The city of Bath is a major tourist destination renowned internationally for its historic past and was inscribed as a world heritage site in 1987 which attracts over 4m visitors each year.”
