The deal, which was agreed between Caledonia and Liberation’s owners LGV for £118m yesterday, was supported by valuation services provided by Christie & Co.

Liberation, founded in 2008 through a management buy-in led by Mark Crowther and equity backed by LGV, owns and operates a fully integrated pub and drinks business located in the Channel Islands and the West Country in the UK. Its business comprises 94 managed and tenanted pubs, two award-winning breweries and three wholesale businesses.

Christie & Co has a long history of working with Liberation, providing professional services to the group since it was purchased by LGV in 2008.

Stephen Owens, Head of Valuation – Pubs & Restaurants at Christie & Co commented, “We are delighted to hear that Caledonia Investments has acquired the Liberation Group. We have a long association with the group, and are proud to have supported them on numerous projects over the years, and throughout this sale.

“We look forward to working with Caledonia to support Liberation’s licensed business in the future.”
