Day nursery market blossoms with another sale in the North of England

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is delighted to announce the sale of Project Blossom – a group of three children’s day nurseries located the Staffordshire and South Cheshire areas, operating under the trading name of Stepping Stones Nurseries.

The group was established by Maria Bradbury in 2003 and during her 14 years of ownership, she grew and developed the portfolio, creating an excellent brand and enthusiastic team which delivers high quality childcare across each of the settings. With Ofsted outcomes of Good and Outstanding, the three nurseries have capacity for 261 children as well as offering lots of scope for further development.

The project was introduced to the market earlier this year and immediately generated a strong level of interest. The group has now been sold to Poppy and Jacks Ltd and Director Sarah Bellamy is delighted with the addition of Stepping Stones Nurseries to her group.

Following her 14 years in the sector, Maria comments, “Working with children and developing the group has given me so much pleasure. Sarah’s standards and ethos matched ours and I can confidently leave knowing this will continue.”

Rosie Adlem, Associate Director at Christie & Co who managed the transaction comments, “We have known Maria for a number of years and were very conscious of the quality of her group. The demand for regional opportunities within the day nursery market has been high for a number of years now and we had no doubts that Project Blossom would generate a large degree of interest, and we were not disappointed!  We look forward to seeing how Sarah develops the group further as part of her own portfolio and wish Maria all the very best with her future endeavours.”
