Charming Maidstone cocktail bar comes to the market

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brought to the market Bottega Bar, a cocktail bar and restaurant in the county town of Maidstone in Kent.

Occupying a three storey property on Earl Street, a popular and bustling street with an array of casual dining restaurants, the recently refurbished bar exudes charm and glamour from a bygone era with wooden floors, Chesterfield style arm chairs and sofas, wooden dining tables and chairs, soft lighting and walls adorned with prints and mirrors.

Comprising a large stock cellar, a ground floor bar area with seating for approximately 40 guests, a further 36 covers on the first floor with a large commercial kitchen, Bottega is not only reputed for its array of cocktails, but also its delicious afternoon tea menu and light bites. Ample space on the top floor, which is currently unoccupied, could be utilised to provide additional covers or a function room.

The private decked garden area to the rear with seating for 12 guests offers an intimate place to relax over a drink with further seating available to the front of the building for circa 20 covers.

Current owners, Andy and Samantha Head have owned and operated the business for just over a year, significantly improving the interior and building up a good reputation in the town. Now looking to sell in order to focus on other business interests, Mr & Mrs Head comment, “We have very much enjoyed running our beloved wine and cocktail bar, but due to a change in our circumstances and pending overseas travel commitments, we are unable to fully commit to running the operation.”

James Hughes, Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “Bottega presents a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced or first time operator to take the helm with potential to further grow the business by extending the opening hours.”

Christie & Co is seeking an asking price £145,000 for the leasehold interest of Bottega Bar.
