Best One occupies an attractive three storey semi-detached property with a 1,160 sq ft trading area on the ground floor, in addition to two newly refurbished flats with separate access located above the store. The well-established store benefits from loyal, local custom and recently underwent a total refurbishment in October 2017.
Having owned and operated the store for ten years, Mr & Mrs Iftikhar decided to sell to pursue new business interests outside of the retail sector. Mrs Aisha Iftikhar comments, “I am really pleased that I chose to go with Christie & Co and would like to thank Jonathan Clements for his assistance in selling my store. Johnny was always there to advise me through the sale of the shop and went above and beyond his duties. He is very nice gentleman and I would definitely recommend and use Christie & Co’s services again.”
The business has been bought by Mr Thangarajah Kuganeswaran of AKH Properties Ltd, who plans to lease the store to family member, Mrs Nishanthan, a first-time entrant to the sector, who will be running the store with her family and plans to utilise one of the flats as owner’s accommodation. Mr Kuganeswaran and Mrs Nishanthan comment, “We are extremely happy to have this opportunity to purchase Best One, Ystradgynlais and exciting times to come. We are also happy that the transaction went so smoothly which resulted in a quick exchange and completion.”
Jonathan Clements, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Cardiff office handled the sale and comments, “Completing the sale within three weeks, I am delighted to have helped Mr & Mrs Iftikhar sell their business and wish them all the best in their new business ventures. I am sure that Mrs Nishanthan will put her own stamp on the store and develop the business further.
“We are seeing increased activity within the region since January 2018, which is reflected in increased viewing numbers, offers presented and completions. These are exciting times for South Wales and we are pleased to be able to assist in securing a successful completion.”
Best One, Ystradgynlais was sold off a guide price of £325,000.
