Bedfordshire nursery acquired by expanding day care providers

Mini Explorers Day Nursery, located in the town of Sandy in Bedfordshire, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, to experienced, expanding operators.

Originally opened in 2011, the nursery provides day care for up to 48 children and operates from a converted property with an additional, separate building, utilised as the dedicated baby unit. The Ofsted rated ‘Good’ setting provides a range of classrooms to cater for different age groups and a large, enclosed garden for outside play. The business also offers an after school club with pick up and drop off services.

Sitting in a residential area, close to the local train station and the A1 main road, Mini Explorers is ideally situated for local parents and those commuting to work for convenient drop off and pick up.

Having been operated by the previous owners, Chris and Christine Schwick, since it was established, the husband and wife team decided to sell the nursery in order to retire. Mr Schwick comments, “I was amazed how quick the sale process was. After selecting Christie & Co to sell our nursery, within a short time the marketing materials were put together, then circulated to their data base. Within a week we had visits from a good number of interested purchasers and a few weeks later we received a number of good positive offers, from which we selected the purchaser. Lucy McLean kept us fully informed throughout the whole process and I would certainly recommend Christie & Co to others.”

Mini Explorers was purchased by existing operators Bob and Sindy Jandoo, who own two day care settings in East London and Essex and plan to continue to expand their growing group.

Lucy McLean, Business Agent at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “The whole process of marketing Mini Explorers was such an enjoyable experience due to the professionalism of both the seller and the purchaser. I wish Mr & Mrs Schwick a happy and relaxing retirement and Mr & Mrs Jandoo all the best with the growth of their settings and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Mini Explorers Day Nursery was sold off an asking price of £470,000 for the freehold interest.
