Deli & café for sale in popular Scottish tourist resort town

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brought to the market Deli Mair, a deli and café in Aviemore, located within Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands.

Opened in 2015 by the current owners, Deli Mair has become an established specialist food retailer and café spot in the town, sitting in a prominent position in Grampian Road, Aviemore’s main thoroughfare.

As a popular and well known holiday destination and the main centre for Cairngorm National Park, the largest in the UK, Aviemore draws high numbers of tourists year round and the business benefits from catering to these visitors and locals alike.

The current owners, Gordon & Debbie Mair, are local entrepreneurs who have established three businesses in the town; Deli Mair, a Costcutter branded food store and a newsagents, which they sold through Christie & Co in 2011. Mr & Mrs Mair have decided to sell Deli Mair in order to purchase another business and relocate to the north coast of Scotland. Mr Mair comments, “We feel that the time is right for someone new to take over the deli and take it to the next level and for us to have some more time to ourselves in our new venture.”

Daniel Arrandale, Associate Director at Christie & Co is handling the sale of Deli Mair and comments, “Deli Mair has, in a short space of time, become well established and is now generating consistent sales and profits, providing a new operator with a great opportunity to capitalise on its licence for off and on premises sales. There is also scope to grow the business through extending its opening hours and increasing profits by utilising the sale of alcohol on premises and hosting wine tastings or events.

“Aviemore is a hugely popular resort town and we continue to experience demand for business opportunities in and around the area, so we anticipate high levels of interest for this attractive multi-faceted business.”

Christie & Co is seeking offers of £85,000 for the leasehold interest of Deli Mair.
