Perthshire care home available as owner looks to retire after 27 years

Following the current owner and manager’s decision to retire after 27 years, Glenhelenbank Residential Care Home in Luncarty, Perthshire, has been brought to the market through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Registered for 13 elderly residents, the long established home provides long term and respite care, comprising 13 bedrooms, two lounges, dining room, enclosed gardens, and four bedroom owner/staff accommodation.

Having been established since 1978, Glenhelenbank is well known in the community and prides itself on offering an environment where individuals and their privacy is respected, dignity is assured, and the mental and physical well-being of residents is of the utmost importance.

Current owner, Mary Davies, has owned and managed the home for the last 27 years, providing high quality care for many residents over that time, and has now decided to sell in order to enjoy a well earned retirement. She comments, “As my husband has recently retired, the time has come for me to also take a step back and finally retire. I'll be very sad to let Glenhelenbank go but the time is right for new adventures.”

Emma Govan, Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments “Glenhelenbank presents a unique opportunity for a buyer to acquire an established, trading care home with a longstanding staff team, situated in a desirable location with a mature local population, over 20% of which are aged over 65.

“The business would be ideal for a care home manager or nurse who aspires to own their own small home where they can provide a valuable, personalised service to residents and their families in an idyllic location.”
