Specialist property adviser Christie + Co has been appointed to sell Thelbridge Cross Inn, a picturesque country inn situated in the heart of rural Devon.

Surrounded by serene countryside in the tiny hamlet of Thelbridge, the former coaching inn offers traditional British dishes and 4-star accommodation in a delightfully cosy atmosphere.

A popular haunt for locals and visitors alike, the owners have built Thelbridge Cross into a thriving business over the last three decades. The couple have decided to call time and are hoping that a new landlord will come forward to continue their good work.

Thelbridge Cross is extremely well-appointed throughout and offers all the modern comforts yet still retains plenty of ‘olde-worlde’ charm and period features, including beamed ceilings and open log fires.

In addition, the property benefits from a spacious and attractive owners’ accommodation which features four double bedrooms, kitchen, roof terrace, office, lounge offering sweeping views across the countryside and a large master bedroom with en-suite facilities.

Richard Wood of Christie + Co’s Exeter office who is handling the sale comments: “The inn has become the hub of the local community. Under the current ownership it is famous locally for its superb food and high-quality accommodation.”

“Over the past 29 years the couple have made significant improvements and developments to the property including the conversion of the rear barn to eight bedroom letting accommodation, as well as the addition of the Dukes Function Suite in 2004, which is used for a wide range of functions and is particularly popular for wedding receptions.”

Christie + Co is seeking offers of £650,000 for the freehold interest in Thelbridge Cross Inn.
