Award winning Hampshire pub sold through Christie & Co

The George Inn, a substantial Grade II Listed inn in the Hampshire village of Vernham Dean has been sold through specialist property adviser, Christie & Co.

The attractive two storey inn, which dates back to the 17th Century, offers traditional period features  and comprises a bar (14), snug (10), side bar (16), restaurant (30) and three bedroom owners’ accommodation. Externally, there is a rear trade garden for 60 covers and parking to the front for 15 vehicles.

With a regional reputation for freshly cooked, locally sourced, quality food and ales and previous award winners of Fullers Hampshire Village Pub of the Year 2012 “Pub is the Hub” and four times winner of the Hampshire Hospitality Award, former owners, Nicky and James Haigh, have left the business in great shape for new owners, Reece and Henrietta Garner.

Richard Wood, Licensed Agent in Christie & Co’s Winchester Office handled the sale. He comments: “This is another good example of a funded transaction illustrating the renewed appetite from banks to support licensed businesses throughout the South.  We are delighted to have facilitated the sale to Reece and Henrietta Garner which only adds to our success so far in 2017.

The business was sold off a guide price of £595,000.
