Two hotels for sale in scenic village locations

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been instructed by our client to sell two award-winning hotels in Wales and Cumbria.

The Beaufort Park Hotel, set in the attractive North Welsh countryside, is a 3-star AA hotel just a short five minutes drive from the historic market town of Mold, near Chester. It is sited in approximately 3.7 acres of land and is within easy reach of nearby attractions including Mountains, National Parks, and the Welsh borderlands. For those tempted by sightseeing and culture, the surrounding area is also rich in heritage with the many castles of North Wales all within easy reach.

The hotel offers 106 guestrooms ranging from double and family rooms, to executive suites and a luxury two-bed self-contained apartment. The hotel houses the Arches Bar and the renowned Orchard Restaurant which offers elegant, yet informal and relaxed surroundings. In recent years the hotel has achieved numerous awards including Winner of the ‘Warmest Welcome in North Wales’, Winner of ‘Best Place to Stay 2014’ and most recently ‘2017 Top Rated Award’ by Laterooms.com. Built in 1982, the hotel was extended and re-opened by The Duke of Westminster in 1987 before its acquisition by the Beaufort Group.

The Crown Hotel sits in approximately 1.8 acres of land in the picturesque village of Wetheral in Cumbria. A 30 minute drive from the Lake District, the 4-star AA rated hotel boasts 51 tastefully decorated, en-suite bedrooms and an array of facilities including a traditional village pub, a fully equipped leisure club and gym, a 12 metre pool, and jacuzzi and steam rooms. A conservatory overlooking the striking landscaped gardens houses the award winning AA Rosette restaurant.

Ryan Lynn, Associate Director in Christie & Co’s Manchester office, comments, “Our clients have owned and operated The Beaufort Park Hotel and The Crown Hotel for a number of years and are now looking for a change of lifestyle due to retirement and relocation. They have worked hard to get the businesses into fantastic shape, with a strong team in place and the right facilities for the locations they are in. This is a great opportunity for an experienced buyer / hotelier to pick up to great and profitable businesses and really drive them forward.

“When discussing options with our clients they have confirmed that the hotels are for sale on an individual basis, however a group deal would also very much be considered.”

Christie & Co is marketing the freehold of The Beaufort Park Hotel at an asking price of Offers in Excess of £3,500,000 whilst The Crown Hotel is being offered Offers in Excess of £3,750,000.
