New owners for Dorset nursing home

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has successfully completed the sale of Park Healthcare Ltd, which operates Hays House Nursing Home and Hays Park retirement apartments, set on 4.5 acres near Shaftesbury, Dorset with funding secured through specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.

Hays House has 41 bedrooms and is registered for 43 residents, providing nursing and social care for the elderly and Hays Park, constructed in 1992, comprises 16 retirement apartments. Existing care operators, Dalton Care Services have acquired Hays House and Hays Park, which will be their first care home in Dorset.

Charles Phillips, Director at Christie & Co’s Winchester office handled the sale and comments, “Following an extensive marketing campaign in collaboration with joint selling agents, Savills, Park Healthcare Ltd garnered a high level of interest resulting in several competitive bids. We are delighted to have achieved a sale for our clients, who have owned the care home since 1984 and we wish them all the best in their retirement from this sector.

“With exciting plans in place to upgrade the business, I have no doubt that Dalton Care Services will continue to grow the business and wish them every success with their new venture.”

Amanda Clarkson, Director of Park Healthcare comments, “Hays House and Hays Park have been a major part our lives and we are pleased to be passing the business onto the new purchaser, who we believe will build on the good name of the business. We are pleased to have achieved completion following the marketing process.”

Ramesh Dalton, Managing Director of Dalton Care Services comments, “We are committed to ensuring the current and new residents of Hays House and Hays Park receive the best possible care and look forward to working closely with their families and staff. This is a good business located in a beautiful setting and we thank Amanda and her family for their dedication to the sector over the years. We hope to be able to continue their good work.”

David Ward, Senior Director at Christie Finance brokered the funding to secure the business and comments, “‘It was a pleasure working with Ramesh again for the purchase of his seventh care home. Having knowledge of and access to the whole of the market meant that we were able to find the right lender to match Ramesh’s requirements. Working with Charles to project manage the purchase, we were able to overcome a number of legal hurdles to allow the completion to take place. I wish Ramesh every success with this latest addition to his group.”
