Family run coffee shop sold through Christie & Co to new operators

HunnyBeez Coffee Shop and Tea Room in the Kent town of Tenterden, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, to first time operators.

The charming, family run coffee shop features a 28 cover, open plan trade area with tables, chairs and comfortable sofas and a patio garden to the front of the property for 26 covers, which is very well utilised in the warmer months, attracting not only local trade but tourists who are drawn to the area. Its location on the High Street makes it easily accessible and ideally placed to cater to the high level of footfall in the town.

Former owners, mother and son team, Scott Bignell and Tracy Newman are leaving the sector after six years at the helm in order to focus on their careers and comment, “We had previously marketed the business through another agent who were unable to find a purchaser, so we were delighted to instruct Christie & Co who found a buyer for us in less than six months.  We have loved every second running our own business, so we will be sad to leave, but the time has come for us both to embark on new journeys.”

The business was sold to first time buyers in the hospitality sector, with them having just sold their business in another sector.

James Hughes, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Maidstone office, handled the sale and comments, “This lovely coffee shop attracted significant interest and offers due to its enviable position on the High Street. I am delighted to have secured new operators for Scott and Tracy as they are genuinely lovely people and I wish them all the best with their future careers.”

Christie & Co sold HunnyBeez off a leasehold asking price of £85,000.
