The Grill in Aberdeen brought to the market for the first time

The Grill, a well established freehold public house in Aberdeen city centre, has been brought to the market through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

Occupying the ground and lower ground levels of a three story building on Union Street, the open plan bar area features traditional mahogany panelled walls and leatherette seating. An office, ample storage and refrigerated beer storage are located on the lower ground level.

The local institution first opened as a restaurant in 1870 and has operated as a pub since the early 1900s. Known for its wide selection of lagers, ales and internationally renowned whisky selection, The Grill enjoys a loyal following and generates high turnover throughout the year. The pub is also situated opposite the Aberdeen Music Hall, which has recently undergone a multi million pound refurbishment and reopened in December 2018, drawing high levels of footfall.

The pub has been family owned and operated since 1971 and the collective family have decided to sell in order to retire.

Stuart Drysdale, Director at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “The Grill presents a new owner with the rare opportunity to acquire a pub which has been a part of the local leisure circuit for over a century. The Aberdeen institution is available for sale on the open market for the first time in 48 years. A traditional wet led pub, The Grill enjoys consistently healthy levels of profit with a strong management and staff team in place. The owners have decided to sell to enjoy their retirement and we expect a good amount of interest from local and national operators.”
