The restaurant has been owned and operated by Fabio Terrinoni since the mid 80’s, and he has taken the decision to sell the business to focus on his other restaurant in Henley-on-Thames. Fabio and the team have gained an enviable reputation for providing an authentic Italian dining experience, reflected in the restaurant’s TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Fabio comments, “It has been a pleasure operating in Marlow for so long, as we were always well supported by the local community who seem to have a real passion for dining. We wish the new owner Atul every success with his new restaurant.”

Villa D’este is located in the heart of Marlow, alongside many other independent businesses and retailers. This affluent town is known for its range of superb pubs and restaurants which attract trade from London and further afield. The attractive, ground floor restaurant seats 80/100 guests and houses a large commercial kitchen.

Villa D’Este has been bought by well-known chef, Atul Kochhar who plans to follow the success of his other restaurants by completely refurbishing the property and opening a restaurant that brings something new and exciting to the town.  Atul was the first Indian chef to receive a Michelin Star, which he achieved in 2001 whilst at Tamarind in London, and his culinary talents have been said to change the way people perceive and experience Indian cuisine. Kochhar has opened numerous award-winning restaurants and makes regular television appearances. He has also written several successful cookery books.

Tim Widdows, Business Agent at Christie & Co handled the sale and comments, “Due to its strong location in Marlow, we received a good amount of interest from a range of operators. We are thrilled that it was taken on by a well-known restaurateur such as Atul, who will no doubt thrive with his new venture. I am sure the people of Marlow will be excited to have a new and exciting restaurant in the town.”
