St. Catherine’s House began trading as a care home in 1948 - offering accommodation to elderly residents within its 14 bedrooms - until it closed in July 2019. The site comprises two extended and inter-linked properties with rendered brick elevations under a pitch tiled roof. It is located on a quiet residential road in Enfield, North London, and benefits from easy access to local shops and good transport links.
The home’s previous owners, A D R Care Homes Ltd, decided to sell to concentrate on their other care homes in East Anglia.
One of the company’s Directors comments, “St Catherine’s was our first care home so the decision to sell wasn’t an easy one. We’ve known Christie & Co for many years and know Jordan Oborne to be proactive and extremely easy to work with, so we were confident he would do his very best for us. We’re delighted to pass the site into capable hands and look forward to seeing it grow in the future.”
Jordan Oborne, Associate Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “We received a lot of interest from residential developers and care operators, and I’m pleased to say that the property will be brought back into use within the care sector, providing a valuable service within the community.
“This sale is a great example of continued investment within the sector and the highest value being found from buyers in healthcare.”
St. Catherine’s House was sold off an asking price of £1,300,000.
