Manchester country hotel set to grow wedding business after sale

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brokered the sale of The Grains Bar Hotel in Denshaw, located on the outskirts of Greater Manchester.

The hotel is a 300-year-old three storey property set in approximately nine acres of farmland with stunning views of Saddleworth Moors.

The current owners had successfully run the hotel for over 20 years before they took the decision to retire. The hotel has now been bought by Lisa Holroyd.

Lisa comments, “Grains Bar Farm was originally owned by my family before the previous owners. Bringing back the hotel into my family was a great opportunity.  I want to continue to create a warm and friendly environment for all our guests, alongside creating beautiful and affordable wedding and event spaces for people to enjoy.  It is important to me that my customers have a great experience at the hotel and create lots of happy memories. Our boundaries run alongside the Pennine Way and we are set in the beautiful countryside with picturesque views surrounding us.”

Tom O’Malley, Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale comments, “Due to the growth potential of the business coupled with its incredible location, the sale attracted a lot of interest and multiple bids – mainly from local operators. We agreed a sale to Lisa who is a first-time operator and offered over the asking price.  We would like to wish her well in this new venture.”
