13th century East Riding coaching inn brought to the market

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been instructed to sell The St Quintin Arms, a 13th century coaching inn in Harpham, a sought after village situated between Bridlington and Driffield in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Ideally located on Main Street, the charming village pub is comprised of three dining areas, which provide seating for up to 52 guests. Two of the dining areas are ideal for private dining and hosting small parties. Externally, there is a large garden and patio which seats up to 30 guests and can also accommodate a marquee for larger events and wedding receptions. The property also features four well presented, en suite letting rooms, as well as two bedroom owner’s accommodation.

In addition, the garden could also be developed into camping, glamping or caravan sites, subject to necessary planning permission, presenting a new owner with the opportunity to further build the events side of the business and significantly increase trade.

Current owners, Zoe and Ian Burdass have owned and operated the business for eight years and have decided to sell in order to concentrate on their other businesses. They comment, “The business has given us the opportunity to be an integral part of a wonderful village community. It has afforded us a comfortable lifestyle and created new challenges and interests which we wish to pursue, thus the decision to move on.”

Matthew Hendry, Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “Zoe and Ian have created a fantastic business and I am delighted to be instructed to find a new tenant for this gorgeous East Yorkshire coaching inn.

“Over the last couple of years, we have seen high demand for pubs with rooms and St Quintin Arms is right up there as one of the best I have seen, so I anticipate that it will receive significantly high levels of interest.”

Christie & Co is seeking an asking price of £70,000 for the leasehold interest of St Quintin Arms.
