The impressive property had been sympathetically extended and developed from a small farm house by the previous owners and comprises a bar, lounge, and 60 cover restaurant, with nine en suite guest bedrooms provided in the main house and a further eight cottage rooms situated in a converted stables building, adjacent to the house.

Sitting on well maintained gardens, with a picturesque pond, courtyard, and paved terrace, Loftsome Bridge offers an idyllic destination for guests to relax in expansive indoor and outdoor spaces. The site is also easily accessible via the M62, connecting the venue to the bustling towns and cities within the region.

The family owned and operated business has been built up over the past 20 years, establishing an excellent reputation under the previous owners, Guy Oldridge and Angela Axup, who decided to sell in order to pursue other opportunities. Guy comments, “Both Angela and I have loved our time at Loftsome Bridge however we both felt it was time to move on and let someone else take the reins. We think that Nigel, Lynda and Ivan are the ideal people to take the business forward and we wish them all the best.”

The buyers and new owners are a partnership comprising Nigel and Lynda Dibb and Ivan Imiolek, who bring with them a wealth of hospitality experience. Nigel, who has over 25 years’ hospitality management experience working with international and privately run hotels, comments, “We are, as a family, really excited and delighted to have taken over Loftsome Bridge Coaching Inn having been visiting it for over 21 years.

“The hotel will now be known as Loftsome Bridge Hotel. We look to continue to build on the truly fantastic reputation locally around the outstanding food and service delivered by the whole team, who are really excited by the future plans for the property.”

Mark Worley, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, comments, “It was a pleasure to act for Guy and Angela and we are delighted that Loftsome Bridge has been sold as a going concern and to buyers who plan to invest and develop the trade.

“The deal comes shortly after our recent nearby sales of The Fox & Hounds in Sinnington, The White Rose at Leeming, The Coachman at Snainton, and a host of other pubs and hotels across Yorkshire, further demonstrating the demand for hospitality businesses across the region.”

Loftsome Bridge Coaching Inn was sold off an asking price of £1,500,000 for the freehold interest.
