The site’s previous owner, Aspire LLP, achieved full planning permission for a “state of the art” care home scheme which is expected to include a feature entrance and a wide variety of luxury resident amenities including a restaurant, hair salon, cinema and several activity and social spaces throughout the building. There are also a selection of external terraces and patio areas for resident to enjoy with views over woodlands to the rear of the development.

Speaking on behalf of Aspire LLP, Managing Director, Mr Michael Lucas, comments, “The team at Aspire worked diligently to develop a scheme that respected the character of the area but provides ‘best in class’ facilities to residents. We achieved planning consent within nine months of inception of the project, which a testament to team’s engagement with Local Authority and wider community.”

The site has been acquired by Cinnamon Care Collection, an exclusive group of luxury care homes and retirement villages located across England. The expanding care group also has several new developments anticipated to open later in 2021. Construction of the new care home in Worthing, West Sussex, is expected to begin in Q4 2021.

Mr Ken Mackenzie, Director at Cinnamon Care Collection, comments, “We are delighted to acquire this consented site in Worthing and look forward starting construction in the coming months. It has been a pleasure working with Aspire and Christie & Co on this development and we hope to continue to partner with them in the years ahead.”

Jordan Rundle, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Demographic analysis identified a very high demand for elderly care beds in the local catchment area and Aspire LPP have achieved planning permission for a truly best in class care home development, which will serve Worthing’s growing elderly population. The scheme will compliment Cinnamon’s growing presence in the region, and we look forward to seeing the completed scheme in due course.”

The site was sold to Cinnamon Care Collection at an undisclosed price.
