New captain sought for East Devon pub
The Golden Hind, a detached pub situated in Musbury, Devon has been brought to the market by specialist property adviser, Christie & Co.
The pub, which takes its name from the 16th century English galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake, is located within a short drive of Lyme Regis, Seaton and Axminster, alongside the A358.
The business has been run by its current owners since 1999 when they purchased what was their first pub through Christie & Co in Exeter. The operation has been run very much as a lifestyle business and is supported well by locals in the neighbouring areas. It is known for its locally brewed ales, for which they have Cask Marque accreditation.
The property includes a bar and restaurant, commercial kitchen, spacious three bedroom owners’ apartment, a private garden and car park for 16 vehicles.
Stephen Champion, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Exeter office who is handling the sale comments, “We are delighted that the owners have come back to Christie & Co to sell their business, having purchased Golden Hind through us 17 years ago.
“The business provides huge potential for a new operator to develop the levels of trade, in particular the food offering, which currently makes up just 30% of turnover.”
The pub is available on a freehold basis for an asking price of £325,000.
