The pub is located in the Lake District National Park along Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk on the edge of the North Eastern Fells. Being the sole hostelry in Bampton Grange, the Crown & Mitre houses the only restaurant available within five miles of the route, serving many walkers and nearby holiday cottages.

The business, which includes eight ensuite bedrooms and three bedroom owner’s accommodation has been refurbished by the current owners in the nine years they have operated the inn. They have retained many of the original period style features alongside establishing a premium quality hotel which benefits from a substantial number of repeat business.

Recently awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2016, the four star Crown & Mitre also offers a 40-cover lounge and public bar and a 20-cover formal dining and breakfast room.

Keith Stringer, Associate Director at Christie & Co’s Manchester office comments, “Offered for sale due to the current owners’ retirement, the Crown & Mitre can be operated as a boutique bed and breakfast or equally as a full-on dining inn, with rooms for those travelling along Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast walkway.”

The freehold of the Crown & Mitre is available at an asking price of £550,000. Click here for more information on the business.
